“I was drawn to family law because I believe compassionate legal advocacy can make a meaningful difference during some of the most challenging moments in a person's life.”
Meet Nelida Almeida
Hi, I'm Nelida Almeida, a Paralegal at Z Family Law. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area shaped my desire to pursue work that positively impacts others. Living in such a diverse and vibrant community also gave me a deep appreciation for the complexity of each person's unique life journey.
I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Legal Studies: Jurisprudence & Social Policy. Although I initially focused my studies on cognitive science, an elective course in U.S. legal history unexpectedly captured my interest. It was the first time I truly understood how deeply our legal system affects our lives, and I have been passionate about making the law more accessible ever since.
After college, my career took me through several different industries before ultimately leading me back to the legal field. I worked as a project engineer, supporting the construction of new Metro stations in Los Angeles. I later worked as a claims analyst for a startup based in New York before transitioning into litigation. Most recently, I worked as a paralegal supporting class action cases, with a particular focus on cybersecurity, privacy, and data breach litigation. These varied experiences strengthened my analytical abilities, litigation support skills, and commitment to client advocacy.
What drew me to Z Family Law was the opportunity to use those skills in work that feels genuinely meaningful. I'm committed to helping clients feel informed, respected, and supported, and I'm proud to be part of a team that approaches every client with compassion and care.
Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with nature, oil painting, and being a doting dog mom to my spunky Chihuahua, Luna.
