"My clients are more than just files to me. In every interaction, my goal is to ensure they feel heard, understood, and empowered."
Meet Kirisha Marshall.
Hi, I’m Kirisha!
As an attorney at Z Family Law, I work hard to provide exceptional representation and excellent client service to individuals and families navigating divorce, custody, domestic violence, and other family law cases.
After earning my J.D. from Howard University School of Law in 2016, I began my career working for nonprofits, including Break the Cycle, the Network for Victim Recovery of DC (NVRDC) and the DC Volunteer Lawyers’ Project (DCVLP), where I spent several years advocating for and representing young victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, harassment, and stalking.
Alongside my work in the courtroom, I also led training and community outreach efforts focused on educating the public, connecting with local leaders, and influencing public policy change to spread awareness, prevent domestic violence, amplify young voices, and improve outcomes for survivors.
In 2022, I moved into private practice, where I continued working with vulnerable youth and survivors of abuse, while expanding the scope of my practice to include divorce and custody cases, prenuptial agreements, and other family law matters.
My background and experience working with trauma survivors has deeply influenced my approach to family law, and my clients are more than just files to me. In every interaction, my goal is to ensure my clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. This client-focused approach aligns closely with Z Family Law’s values, which is exactly what drew me to the firm in the first place.
When I’m not at the office, you’ll find me practicing my putt on the golf course, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, traveling to explore new places, attending local bar association events, and serving as the Sponsorship Chair for Bison Impact Group, a nonprofit that raises funds for domestic violence survivors at HBCUs.
