Meet Sophia Bass.

I’m Sophia, Legal Assistant at Z Family Law. I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics. During my time there, I received academic honors for three consecutive years, was a member of the College Park Scholars – Justice and Legal Thought Program during my first two years, and completed a Capstone project as part of that program. I was also inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, the Government and Politics Honor Society.

I worked as a Bilingual Legal Assistant in Immigration Law, where I developed strong skills in client communication, case management, and providing support to individuals navigating life-changing legal matters. My background in customer service further strengthened my ability to show compassion and empathy, while maintaining the diligence and attention to detail necessary in the legal field. 

I was drawn to Z Family Law because of its mission to provide clients with new beginnings through compassionate and high-quality legal representation. Having personally witnessed the challenges families face during divorce and custody battles, I understand how important it is for clients to feel both supported and confident that their case is being handled with diligence and care. What excites me most about working here is the opportunity to combine empathy with detail-oriented work, ensuring that clients feel heard and reassured during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

On a personal level, my own experience as the daughter of divorced parents and watching my father go through a lengthy custody battle gave me insight into the emotional weight these cases carry. It also inspired my belief that every family law client deserves representation that is both compassionate and efficient.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing video games, drawing, and singing, creative outlets that bring balance to my professional life and allow me to recharge.
