"My passion for advocacy and healthy relationships led me to family law, where I can support clients through difficult transitions while contributing to a future built on safety, stability, and new beginnings."

Meet Emma O’Hara

I’m Emma O’Hara, a Legal Assistant at Z Family Law, where I help support clients and attorneys through important life transitions with empathy, organization, and dedication. I graduated from American University in Fall 2025 with an interdisciplinary degree in Communications, Legal Studies, Economics, and Government, along with a minor in Special Education. My educational and professional experiences have shaped a strong foundation in advocacy, communication, and service.

Prior to joining Z Family Law, I gained valuable legal experience working in Judge Israel’s chambers at the DC Superior Court, in the office of Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, and with Court Appointed Special Advocates of DC. These roles gave me a broad understanding of legal systems, institutional advocacy, and the profound impact thoughtful legal support can have on individuals and families. My volunteer work in domestic violence awareness and prevention, including with My Sister’s Place and New Hope Domestic Violence Shelters, further strengthened my passion for helping individuals navigate difficult circumstances and pursue healthier futures.

What drew me most to Z Family Law was its genuine commitment to both excellence and empathy. The team’s dedication to clients, combined with a deeply compassionate approach, made it clear that this was a place where I could contribute to meaningful work aligned with my own values.

Outside of work, you can find me swimming, trying new workout classes, and spending time with friends.
