"Family law is emotionally complex, and I’ve seen how powerful it can be when clients are met with not just legal knowledge but genuine empathy and support."
Meet Carly Holton.
I’m Carly Holton, a Legal Assistant at Z Family Law. I earned my degree as a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland. My fascination with human behavior—especially within the context of personal and societal relationships—is what originally drew me to the legal field. I’ve always been curious about the complexities of social dynamics, and working in family law gives me a front-row seat to the deeply human side of the legal system.
I was drawn to Z Family Law because of its empathetic client-first approach. Family law is emotionally complex, and I’ve seen how powerful it can be when clients are met with not just legal knowledge but genuine empathy and support. My academic background has taught me the importance of understanding people beyond their circumstances. That perspective guides the way I communicate, collaborate, and support the clients and attorneys I work with each day.
Outside the office, I spend a lot of time with my bunny, Franklin (yes, I have photos!), and love discovering new restaurants, knitting, and watching more documentaries than I care to admit. Whether I’m learning something new or just spending time with loved ones, I find joy in the little things—and that’s a mindset I bring to my work, too.
