Meet Yadmila Matos.
Throughout my life, I’ve come to understand the countless challenges that starting over inevitably brings. Along the way, I’ve also seen time and again how perseverance and the support of a community can carry you through just about anything standing in your way. Originally hailing from an island historically devastated by hurricanes, I’ve had to pick up and leave my home behind multiple times to date. It’s formative experiences like these that ultimately led me to ZFL, a firm that guides every client through some of their darkest moments until they can see the light waiting on the other side.
After graduating from the University of Puerto Rico with a BA in English Literature, I went on to receive my Paralegal Certificate from Montgomery College in 2023. My associated coursework, along with my hands-on experience working as a Legal Assistant at a financial services company, reaffirmed my passion for the law — and for helping others. At ZFL, I’ve found a compassionate, collaborative team that approaches family law through a holistic lens. Here, our clients aren’t just numbers, but rather human beings in need of balanced advice, perspective, and understanding.
As one of the firm’s Paralegals, I spend my days arming our attorneys with the information they need to navigate every matter successfully — from case planning to legal research, client interviews, and beyond. Together, I look forward to turning daunting transitions into new chapters, one client at a time.
Outside of the office, chances are you can find me reading, crocheting, or binge-watching comedy shows!
