"I look forward to working with clients as they find their way to their new normal and the rest of their lives. Divorce isn’t the end of the book; it’s simply the beginning of Part II."
Meet Samantha Miklaszewski.
Fourteen years ago, when I separated from the US Air Force and began pursuing my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with aspirations of becoming a Probation Agent, I never believed I would be where I am today. Maybe it was my love for dramatic TV shows and My Cousin Vinny, or that ever-growing “TBR” pile brimming with crime and psychological thrillers, but somewhere along the way, I fell in love with law and the justice system.
From 2015 to 2016 and 2018 to 2022, I worked as a Courtroom Clerk for the Montgomery County Circuit Court and had the amazing opportunity to assist Judges, Magistrates, Attorneys, and parties in hearings and trials on Family, Criminal, Civil, and Juvenile cases. It was there that my love and appreciation for family law began to take shape. One day, I hoped I would have the chance to help others navigate what is arguably one of the most challenging (and rewarding) chapters in their lives.
In 2014, I went through my own separation and divorce. Navigating the waters as an unrepresented party was stressful and challenging. Was I doing the right thing for myself and my children? How long did the other party have to file a response? What do I do if they don’t file a response? And what exactly is a scheduling hearing?! Despite the ups and downs, I made it through to the other side, and I am now a happily remarried, proud co-parent living my best life.
As a Legal Assistant at Z Family Law, I look forward to working with clients as they find their way to their new normal and start the rest of their lives. After all, divorce isn’t the end of the book; it’s simply the beginning of Part II.
