Managing Litigation AttorneyNicholas Andrews, Esquire

"I'm proud to work for a firm where every team member shares my passion for empowering families through unrivaled knowledge, seamless client service, and genuine empathy."

Meet Nick Andrews.

Over the course of my legal career, I’ve handled an array of unique cases, but no experience rivals my time in family law. The way I see it, family law is the most rewarding way to help people navigate life’s momentous challenges with the support of trusted counsel on their side. Today, as an Attorney for Z Family Law, I guide my clients through even the most trying matters — whether it’s reorganizing a family, modifying child custody schedules, or dealing with domestic relations issues.

Prior to finding my way into law, I received my JD from American University and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, including active duty service in Iraq. Then, in 2002, I worked as an Attorney for Brodsky, Greenblatt, & Renehan (now Brodsky, Renehan, Pearlstein, & Bouquet) — a Gaithersburg family law firm — before moving on to McCarthy Wilson LLP, a Rockville-based firm focused on civil defense litigation. From litigating family matters to arguing complex civil cases before a judge, my experience is grounded in strategic problem-solving and compassionate guidance, skills I harness every day for my clients’ benefit.

After spending the last several years as CEO of GreenSmith, LLC — a West Virginia hemp farm and product manufacturer, which I co-founded in 2018, I decided it was time to return to my family law roots. It was a decision fueled both by my enduring passion for helping families and a recent personal development that’s only strengthened my connection to the work I do. Several years back, after my ex-wife and I separated, I shared the concerns many facing the same life transition might have: How will this change impact my kids? How can we remain a stable family unit despite living in two independent households? As it turns out, choosing to separate was in fact the best path we could’ve taken — not only for ourselves but for our children. Reframing divorce as an opportunity instead of a setback has transformed my life, the same way Z Family Law helps every client find their own new beginning. I’m proud to work for a firm where every team member shares my passion for empowering families through unrivaled knowledge, seamless client service, and genuine empathy. Together, I look forward to re-writing the family law narrative — one client at a time.

Outside of law, you can typically find me soaking up every minute outdoors. A few of my favorite intrepid activities? Mountain biking, snowboarding, skiing, fishing, and hunting.
