"I’m proud to be a part of a team that truly cares about the well-being of each client, a service-driven mindset that’s infused throughout every touchpoint of the ZFL experience."
Meet Emily Koliago.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve recognized the importance of helping people navigate challenging situations. Perhaps this sense of purpose stems from my own personal experience dealing with the divorce of my parents at 14. I still remember the struggle of balancing moving between two different households and feeling as if my voice wasn’t valued. Ever since this life-changing event, I’ve not only understood the hardships children encounter when their parents divorce, but made it my mission to be there for others going through similarly transformative legal hardships.
Prior to graduating from Indiana University with degrees in International Law and Chinese, I worked as an Intern for the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) NGO, writing weekly articles about nuclear weapon developments around the globe and preparing for the spring 2022 seminar, where political leaders and global citizens came together to discuss nuclear weapon policies. This internship helped sharpen my knack for organization and ability to adapt to new situations on the fly, skills I bring to my work at Z Family Law today.
As the firm’s Office Assistant, I help the legal team handle day-to-day administrative tasks, which ensures they are available to focus on taking care of our clients and keeping their cases moving forward. I’m proud to be a part of a team that truly cares about the well-being of each client, a service-driven mindset that’s infused throughout every touchpoint of the ZFL experience.
Outside of work, you can find me out on the water, sailing, and exploring museums year-round. I also enjoy giving back to the community I call home — whether it’s volunteering at church or buying goods for the local food pantry.
